Mobotix Benefits
Mobotix security cameras have several unique benefits:
- High Resolution! Up to 3.1 megapixels which is approximately 30 times more than analog security cameras are able to capture. More resolution can result in fewer cameras needed to cover the same area. Some models have 2 lenses to allow for a full 180° view.
- Progressive Scan 1/2” CMOS lens results in no half frame blurred images or “jaggies”. Backlight compensation is handled extremely well and a variety of lenses are available for any application.
- Decentralized or Centralized Deployments – you decide. Mobotix cameras process and can store recordings on camera using flash memory, up to 16GB without the need for a PC. This results in minimal network traffic. Centralized deployments are also optional using FTP, NFS, Windows network shares or network storage devices.
- Robust. No motors, fans, heaters and other moving parts results in high availability and low power consumption – only 3 watts! All in a fiberglass reinforced composite housing that will not discolor over time.
- Weatherproof. Rated from -30° to +60°C (-22° to +140°F) makes it suitable for nearly any environment.
- Low Light Ready. Mobotix is one of the few IP camera manufacturers that states the required shutter speed to capture images in minimum light.
- Technically superior. Typical German! Mobotix cameras are full featured with advanced event management, PiR motion detector, video motion zones, schedules and most importantly, a useable interface that works with nearly *any* browser.
- Ethernet ready. 1 cat5 cable is all that is needed to get started, using PoE (Power over Ethernet). Easily deploy cameras to new or existing networks.
- SIP client. Integrate Mobotix’s 2 way audio with your VoIP system. Have Mobotix cameras call your phone when motion is detected or call your camera directly to see, hear and talk!
- Free software. That’s right – free Windows or Mac software. Install it on as many Macs or PCs as required or use their polished web interface from anywhere else.
- Internal Ring Buffer. 16MB to 64MB of on board memory that can bridge network outages. 12MB can store 450 VGA images or 150 megapixel images. 64MB can store 2,500 VGA images or 800 megapixel images.
- MxPEG codec results in low bandwidth requirements and quick video response time. 2Mbps is consumed for 3 megapixel models.
